ERBIL— A booby-trapped house in central Mosul exploded on Wednesday, killing two members of the same family and wounding a third.
The Russian Sputnik news, citing an informed security officer from Mosul, reported that the Islamic State (IS) war remnant detonated as the people entered the house.
The father and the son who were killed in the explosion were the owners of the house, according to the report.
Many houses in Mosul and the rest of the areas previously held by the IS are booby-trapped by the extremists. The returning IDPs occasionally overlook the warnings and enter their houses before they are declared safe.
