ERBIL— The explosion of a land mine in a village to the west of Qara Tapa district (northern Diyala province) on Friday wounded four farmers.
Mohammed Omar, the chief for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in Qara Tapa, told BasNews that the tractor which carried the farmers to their farms hit the landmine in Ali Sara village, 30km west of Qara Tapa.
One of the wounded people is the son of the headman of Ali Sara whose injury is serious, the official added.
The wounded people have already been moved to hospital by the Shi'ite paramilitaries of Hashd al-Shaabi.
Omar said most of the residents of the village are Shi'ite Arabs and some of them are members in the Hashd forces.
