ERBIL— Hundreds of Kurdish diaspora in Europe gathered on Saturday in Oslo, Norway, to attend a festival organized for supporting the independence referendum of the Kurdistan Region.
The Kurds, from Iran, Turkey, Iraq and Syria, all holding Kurdistan flag jubilated and had fun dancing in harmony with Kurdish music.
Similar festivals were held in Russia's St Petersburg and Austria's Vienna, where the participants all called on electorates to vote in favor of Kurdistan independence.
The vote is expected to run on September 25. The Kurdish diaspora will vote electronically and the rest of the voters in Kurdistan and the Kurdistani areas under the authority of Baghdad will cast their ballot in the polling stations.
