ERBIL— Unidentified gunmen shot a former Iraqi and world arm wrestling champion in Baghdad early Monday morning.
Majed Ahmed Mohammed was killed in front of his home in Dora district of Baghdad, the Iraqi media cited the brother of the victim as saying.
The reports said the gunmen cut off the power of the neighborhood before killing the former Iraqi and world champion.
Mohammed was the deputy for Iraqi Arm Wrestling Union and a member of the Asian Arm Wrestling Federation.
The assassination of famous personalities in Baghdad is on the rise. Recently, an artist and a number of physicians were killed by gunmen in the Iraqi capital.
