ERBIL — Iraqi security forces on Friday thwarted another rocket attack on Balad Air Base in north of Baghdad.
Country’s Intelligence Service said four Katyusha rocket launchers were found which are suspected to be set for an attack on Balad Air Base.
Security Media Cell, part and parcel of the Iraqi Army, said the rockets were found in Zanbur area of Diyala province.
On Wednesday night, multiple rockets were fired at the base which is home to US contractors who provide service to Iraq’s F-16 fleet.
The attack caused no casualties or material damage, according to official statements.
