ERBIL - A roadside bomb explosion on Saturday left one Iraqi soldier killed and four others wounded, a source said.
Speaking to Kurdistan 24, a security source pointed out that the incident took place on Saturday evening in Tuz Khurmatu where an explosive device targeted a convoy of the Iraqi army.
The bomb blast, which was said to have been planted by the Islamic State (IS) jihadist group, killed one Iraqi soldier from the army's 9th brigade in Zarga area, west of Tuz Khurmatu, he said.
According to the source, two of the wounded are in critical conditions.
The Islamic State jihadists are believed to be exploiting a security vacuum in Zarga, which is part of the areas disputed between Erbil and Baghdad.
