ERBIL — Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and British Ambassador to Iraq Stephen Hickey on Wednesday discussed the relations between Erbil and Baghdad during a meeting held in Erbil.
The British ambassador reaffirmed his support for the Erbil-Baghdad agreement to normalize the situation in Sinjar, a press release said.
Hickey said the agreement would help the reconstruction of the region and it will allow the return of the Yezidi IDPs, the press release added.
PM Barzani and Ambassador Hickey emphasized on the necessity of resolving the disputes between Erbil and Baghdad based on the Iraqi Constitution, which could help the stability of the entire country.
On the reform process in the Kurdistan Region, PM Barzani said his cabinet is committed to implement the reform plan, as part of which it intends to diversify economy and develop infrastructure in different sectors.
