ERBIL - Security forces in Kurdistan Region's capital Erbil announced on Wednesday the capture of the man who is responsible for the slaughtering of a Kurdish family in Baghdad.
Earlier the day, Dara Raoof, a Kurdish doctor in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, alongside his wife as well as daughter were found brutally slaughtered by unidentified armed men in al-Mansour neighborhood on September 14.
According to a statement by the Kurdistan Region's counter-terrorism force, one of the suspects had escaped to Erbil where he was captured by the security forces, adding that he later confessed to have killed the family and planned to move to Turkey.
The suspect explained that he, a few days ago, went to Raoof's house and asked to lend him some money, but that he refused to borrow him the money which soon led to an argument.
"There was a knife close to me. I stabbed him and he fell on the ground," the suspect said, adding that he also slaughtered his wife and daughter after they caught him at the scene.
