ERBIL — At least two tents belonging to IDP families burnt on Saturday as the result of a fire incident.
The incident was reported from Bersive camp in Zakho district of Duhok, where a large number of internally displaced families have been living for years.
Bewar Aziz, a spokesperson for Duhok police told BasNews the fire was controlled before it could spread to the other tents.
Preliminary investigations show that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.
This was the fourth fire incident at IDP camps in the past 10 days. According to Duhok officials, a total of 40 families have suffered material damages.
