Attended by several religious figures from different faiths, Kurdistan Council of Zoroastrians had organized an opening ceremony at the temple in central Erbil.
BasNews reporter said Asrawan Ahura was appointed the head of the Erbil temple of the Zoroastrians.
Kurdistan Region is known as a unique place in the Middle East where different religions, including Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Yarasanism, Yazidism, Alevismand, and Zoroastrianism are practiced freely, adding to the peaceful spirit of coexistence of the people in the region.
The religious groups also have representations at the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs.
