ERBIL - Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani on Friday paid an official visit to Turkey where he met with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss increasing trade as well as investment.
Both presidents stressed on mutual willingness to further improve the relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey and expanding trade between the two sides, highlighting more opportunities for Turkish investment in the autonomous region.
Barzani's office said in a statement that the pair also exchanged views on the coronavirus pandemic and its implications on the region with Erdogan reiterating Ankara's readiness to assist the Kurdistan Region in the fight against COVID-19.
The two leaders, in the meantime, shed light on the ties between Erbil and Baghdad as well as their remaining disputes, agreeing that the issues should be resolved in accordance with the Iraqi Constitution.
