ERBIL - An Iraqi activist alongside his fiancee were assassinated on Wednesday in the Iraqi city of Basra, reports said.
The young activist was with his fiancee in central Basra before unidentified armed men opened fire at them, according to Iraqi reports.
He was identified as Falah Hasnawi.
This comes only hours after Riham Yaqoob, a woman activist and medic, was shot dead in Basra.
At least five assassination attempts have been reported in Basra in one week alone, out of the five incidents, two individuals have died and the other three were wounded.
