ERBIL - Unidentified armed on Friday evening assassinated an Iraqi civil activist in the southern province of Baghdad, reports said.
Iraqi media reports said that a group of unknown armed men raided the headquarters of an internet-based company belonging to Tahseen Osama, opening fire at the activist and leaving him dead.
He was reportedly shot at least 20 times, reports said, adding that another person was also injured in the attack.
Since the beginning of the anti-government protests in Iraq in October, last year, tens of activists have so far been assassinated, the perpetrators have not been found.
