ERBIL - The health ministry of Iraq said on Friday that it had recorded the highest daily number of coronavirus cases since the outbreak of the novel virus in the country in February.
In the past 24 hours, the ministry said in a statement, at least 4,013 other infections of coronavirus have been detected across Iraq while 68 more people lost their lives.
A total of 20,446 suspects went through medical checks, the statement noted, adding that 2,921 people have also been discharged from the hospital during the same period of time.
Iraq has so far registered at least 168,290 COVID-19 cases, out of which 5,709 patients died, but 120,129 others have recovered from the virus.
