ERBIL - Iraq has condemned the deadly Turkish airstrike which killed two Iraqi border guards on Tuesday, calling the attack a "blatant violation" of the country's sovereignty.
A statement by the Iraqi presidency slammed the air raid and warned that such military operations would harm the relations between the neighbors.
Turkey should cease the military operations, the press release said.
A Turkish airstrike on Tuesday targeted a vehicle belonging to the Iraqi border guards in the Kurdistan Region's Sidakan area where it left two senior commanders killed.
The Iraqi border guards were in the border village to meet with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fighters in hopes of convincing them to withdraw from the area.
