Over 100 Kurdish Inmates Contract Coronavirus in One Iran Prison

ERBIL - A human rights group revealed on Wednesday that more than 100 Kurdish prisoners in an Iranian prison have been found positive for coronavirus.

Hengaw Organization for Human Rights said in a report that the Kurdish inmates have been held in a Mahabad prison where they also suffer from a lack of efficient services.

Some of the patients are in critical health condition while the authorities have refused to take them to any medical centers, according to the monitoring group.

At least nine Kurdish prisoners have died due to the coronavirus in Iranian prisons since early March, Hengaw agency added.
