COVID-19: Turkey Sends Aid to Iraq

ERBIL - Turkey on Monday delivered medical assistance to neighboring Iraq to help Baghdad in combating the coronavirus pandemic.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry said in a statement that several trucks carrying medical supplies arrived in Baghdad from Turkey on Monday.

Speaking to reporters, Ahmed al-Sahaf, a spokesperson for the ministry, noted that they would cooperate with the Ministry of Health to receive the medical assistance and distribute it among the patients who are in need.

This comes as Iraq is struggling with fighting COVID-19 while the daily number of infections and deaths continues to spike on a daily basis.
