Coronavirus Cases in Kirkuk Rise to over 2,200

ERBIL — With 138 new cases announced on Sunday, the total number of COVID-19 infections in the disputed Kurdish province of Kirkuk rises to 2,247, official records show.

The majority of the cases, which are more than 1,170, are active cases who remain in the hospitals of Kirkuk and Munzir Numan, head of the infectious diseases department told BasNews.

“A total of 962 people have recovered from the disease while 114 have lost their lives,” Numan added.
