ERBIL - The number if coronavirus cases in the Kurdistan Region has now surpassed 7,000, the health ministry reported on Saturday evening.
At least 25 people in the capital Erbil, 68 in Garmiyan area, 108 in Sulaimaniya, and three others in Duhok provinces have been found positive for COVID-19, the ministry said.
According to a press release by the ministry, eight people in Sulaimaniya and another in Garmiyan lost their lives due to the novel coronavirus.
However, it also confirmed that 268 patients have recovered from the novel virus since yesterday.
The Kurdistan Region has so far recorded a total of 7,048 infections, out of which 4,269 patients have been discharged from the hospital while 240 others have died since March.
