ERBIL — Iranian border guards opened fire at a group of Kurdish porters on Sunday in the border areas of Western Azarbaijan province, killing two and injuring one.
Hengaw Organization for Human Rights confirmed the report and said that the shooting had taken place in Silwana area, near Urmia.
According to Hengaw’s data center, over 30 Kurdish porters have been killed or injured during the past month. Except two landmine explosions, the rest were targeted by Iranian or Turkish border guards.
