‘Love Solitude’ Wins Best Documentary Award at CinemaCo Film Festival

ERBIL — CinemaCo Film Festival of Kurdistan announced the winners on Wednesday to become the first online film festival in Kurdistan Region.

The jury selected “Love Solitude”, a film sponsored by Bas News Agency, as the best documentary film submitted to the festival.

Love Solitude, directed by Sardar Sattar and produced by Mohamad Dargalyi, is about a Kurdish man known for his pure love and years of solitude.

Ali Ashiq relates his unique story in the film after having spent decades in the mountains away from people, for losing the hope of marrying the love of his life.

Living in Ali Bag Valley of Erbil province now, Ali’s home has become like a love shrine for many young men and women with similar stories and a broken heart.

CinemaCo, organized by Sarkash Muhammed and a group of Kurdish filmmakers as well as academicians, was sponsored by Kurd Cinema website.
