ERBIL - The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on Thursday announced that it had detected 12 more infections of the coronavirus in the capital Erbil.
A statement by the health ministry explained that five men and seven women in Erbil province tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.
At least six of the cases were registered in the town of Ankawa, located in northwest of Erbil, while the other six were in other neighborhoods of the city.
With the new reports, the total number of coronavirus infections so far confirmed since the outbreak of the novel virus reached 544 in the region, out of which 407 patients have recovered, but five others lost their lives.
