ERBIL - Local authorities in Germany's Bavaria have deported a Kurdish citizen to Turkey for waving a Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units' (YPG) flag, reports said on Wednesday.
He was identified as Murat Akgul, 35, a father of four children who had lived in Germany's Nurnberg since he was five years old, according to a report by Nordbayern, as cited by Kurdistan 24.
The report explained that Akgul had joined protests with a YPG flag while participating in pro-Kurdish events.
The logos of the YPG, Women's Protection Units (YPJ), and the Democratic Union Party (PYD) were announced banned by Germany in March 2017, considering them as an extension of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
